Dee: Our guest today has an interesting story. Welcome, Laura.

Laura: Thank you, Dee.

Dee: I understand, Laura, that before you became a Christian you had an interest in astrology and the zodiac signs.

Laura: Did I ever. I went to school for it, to figure out what the signs were and everything about the signs. If someone didn't match my 'sign' I almost didn't want to talk with them. I got so involved and so deep into it that it was really a big, big part of my life at one point in my life.

Dee: Do you still follow your sign? Or have curiosity about it?

Laura: No -- never, never. I have no confidence in it anymore. It is so bad, and it is so wrong to do that I am afraid to do it. I wouldn't do it for any reason.

Dee: Right. The scriptures tell us we are not to look to the stargazers nor the prognosticators. We're not to go to the wizards. God tells us he is a jealous God and we are to worship him and him alone.

Now that you use the Bible and draw from that and prayer to guide you, do you find any advantage to looking to God instead of the stars and astrologers?

Laura: When you are looking to astrology or any other thing that takes the place of God, there's no peace. There were no good answers that I could see to my needs and problems. Turning my life over to the Lord has given me real peace.

I've been a Christian now for ten years and I wouldn't trade one day being a Christian for all the days before that, when I tried all kinds of other things to find that peace unsuccessfully.

Dee:Jesus is the answer.

Laura: Amen!
