Session 12: Records




Prayer

Write by memory sections D & E of "The Gospel", their subdivisions and with a scripture for each point

Lecture: Records
As you witness and train others to witness, you'll need a system of records. They needn't be elaborate. It would be well to keep a 'worksheet' to record your visits and the fruit of your labors. Once you have made regular visits for a period of time, you may tend to forget some on whom you've called that should be visited again.

P>If more than one Christian is working together on a regular visitation and witness program, it may be advisable to transfer the information from the worksheet to 5 x 7 cards. This will enable all who are witnessing to have access to the needs of the next visit to various individuals.

Keep a record of your own spiritual children. This is everyone to whom you presented Christ and as a result they made a decision. Pray for them. Call on them. Phone them. Invite them to your home. Take them with you as you worship and serve the Lord. Don't let your "babes" die if you can help it. Do all that you can to see that they are fed and grow to maturity. Train your spiritual children in witnessing. This is called discipling. Christ witnessed to the multitudes, but He spent most of his time allowing them to learn first hand by observing HIm in action. They then took the gospel to many others.

Be flexible and let God direct in each individual circumstance. When someone is consistently on your mind, the Lord may be impressing you because they have an immediate need. Be prepared and willing to change the plans you have for the day, or hour, to reach out to them as God directs. The more you respond in faith, the greater will be your joy and excitement in serving our wonderful Lord.
