The Reality of God

Dee: Have you ever wondered if there is a God? Would you like some interesting information which would help you share the reality of God with others? We'll be sharing some answers to these questions during the next few minutes.

John: Hey, Mom. Tell them about the angel that appeared to you.

Dee: I was critically ill at the time. The angel assured me that I would recover. God is alive and well today.

Harv: Dee, the miracle of your healing reminds me of Hebrews 13:8. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

John: That's right, Dad. Christ healed all kinds of diseases when he walked this earth in the human form, and he is still a miracle working Lord.

Dee: If I had any doubts about the reality of God, they would have been quieted by the appearance of the angel to me.

Harv: There are many evidences of the existence of God for those who really want to know the truth.

Dee: God has a promise for those who want to know if He exists. This promise is repeated many times throughout the Bible for emphasis, like Deuteronomy 4:29. "Seek the Lord your God, you will find Him if you look for Him with all your heart and all your soul."

John: Did you know the Bible is read by more people and published into more languages than any other book?

Dee: Yes, and God's revelation of Himself through the scripture is profound.

Harv: There are hundreds of prophecies in the Old Testament which came to pass many years later and were recorded in the New Testament. These include over 300 prophecies referring to the messiah and were fulfilled with Jesus.

Dee: I've been intrigued with archeological finds which relate to history as recorded in the Bible. For instance, the story of a universal flood is found in some form in many cultures. Including that of the American Indians, the South American Fugians, the Australian Aborigines, the Egyptians, the Siberians and the Finlanders.

John: Regarding Noah's ark, there have been 23 separate sightings by over 200 people since 1856 of an ark between the two summits of Mt. Ararat.

Harv: The Bible says Noah's ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.

Dee: The Russian Tzar sent two companies of soldiers to explore that ark in 1916. There were hundreds of rooms. Some were huge, big enough for any creatures that we are aware of existing. Some of the rooms were small. There were fences and there were cages.

John: I'd like to be a mountain climber and get a souvenir from that ark as others have. Expeditions to it now are really treacherous because of the climate changes, which have affected the glaciers and caused avalanches and high winds.

Harv: Archeologists believe that they have found the tower of Bable near ancient Babylon.

Dee: The Hittite nation mentioned in Genesis was considered a myth by some critics, but an archeologist named Winkler found remains of that nation in 1906. It's fascinating that no archeological discovery has ever controverted a Biblical reference. But they have confirmed some Old Testament traditions.

Praise the Lord. He has promised us that if we seek Him, we shall find Him and evidences of Him are all around us. You may find books at your local Christian bookstore with more details on the archeological finds.
